It all began in the mid-eighties of the last century in new York, when the city hall Department for control of the restaurant business of the city issued another dull bureaucratic requirement that in every restaurant or any other institution where people do not hide from prying eyes eat, on the wall, in a prominent place, would hang a poster describing how to react in case of suffocation caused by the fact that a person got a piece of food in the throat. But then this bright idea was picked up in almost all other major cities of the United States and literally a year all restaurants and eateries of the country were obliged to have on the wall of this instruction. Well, that is, such a poster, which was painted in detail that if a person suddenly choked, and then choked and now choking with bulging eyes, then all around would not sit with faces full of confusion and horror, and quickly looked at the poster, would understand how to save the unfortunate and then, quickly jumped to him and saved. And at first restaurateurs were not too happy about this innovation. And not that to them before did not come with claims relatives are choked, and now the problem was solved and if anything, they could just nod at the wall and say – well, sorry, we all could have done. No. Simply to hang in plain sight what was printed by departments on supervision of pleasure didn't cause any. Because they printed there quite large panels that would look better, in a good way, in hospitals for the poor, and not in good restaurants. But what can you do-they grimaced and began to hang it in prominent places these posters. But then suddenly, some bright head carefully read this order and realized that nowhere is it said that it would necessarily be an official poster. No. It said that On the wall to hang a picture, which will be more fully explained and illustrated and what to do and how to carry out the famous "Heimlich maneuver". That is the basic and mandatory is that the Heimlich maneuver was, Yes. If it's not on the poster, the restaurant will close. Right away. And about that it has to be the poster printed by Department – there was about it words. And then, instead of hanging on the wall this very official dull poster, restaurant owners began to hang posters created by their order all sorts of artists and illustrators. And as a result, we have thousands of author's posters, but at the same time bringing real benefit, because restaurateurs are terribly proud of them and really put on display and ask to pay attention. And hold all sorts of competitions and exhibitions of these posters and even publish catalogs. That is, the attention to the problem attracted even more than it deserves and now it really every 6 who came to eat in a public place knows what to do if a neighbor choked. By the way, if you do not know anything about the reception Heimlich, it is a technique where a person assisting someone who decided to die while eating, should "stand behind the victim, then clench one hand into a fist and put it on the stomach of someone who at that moment suffocates. The palm of the other hand placed on top of the fist, a quick push up fist pressed into my stomach. Thanks to this, a person's breathing is restored." It was all invented by Henry Judah Heimlich (by the way, he died only three years ago, while only four years short of a hundred years! Can you imagine?)- American doctor (thoracic surgeon) and public figure, widely known as the inventor of the method of subdiaphragmatic shocks in the event that the patient's throat got a foreign object. Well, actually, Yes, the reception he patented his 1974 and, as they say, literally saved humanity — apparently before all who choked an epidemic of dying from suffocation. But it doesn't matter. The point is that although the technique is surprisingly simple, but still it must be able to do. And so people learned how to do it – I had to see how it's done and looked to be interested. And with this the author's visualization of Heimlich's technique coped brilliantly.
