About the fact that there was such a car - a Packard

Maybe now many people do not remember, but the Packard was absolutely chic and popular car. Mercedes was nothing compared to him - just something not too serious, not for real uncles in black ties. And, as expected, in the Garage of the Special Purpose of the Main Security Department of the MGB of the USSR, in 1947, it was most of all Packards. Nineteen of them.

Five Cadillacs, three Chevys, two fords, two Buicks, one Tatra, one Chrysler, and one (one!!) Mercedes.

And although no, not most of all, I lie. Most of them were ZIS-110. There were 25 of them. But actually, the one-hundred-and-ten is also a Packard. Although many people claim that the external similarity of the ZIS to the Packard "Senor Seri-ez 180" is no more than an accident, but in General, it is no secret that Roosevelt not only gave Stalin a specially made white armored Packard, but also, as they say, wanting to appease the Russians before the difficult post-war negotiations, persuaded the company's leaders to sell the USSR body stamps of the 1942 model. Well, about this - I can't say anything, because I can hardly imagine myself Roosevelt persuading the management of an automobile company to sell body stamps removed from the production of the car.

But still, whatever it was - a legendary brand. Valued as much as the Royces, by the way.
It is a pity that so ingloriously and imperceptibly died...
