Continuing Radioactive Incidents I want to tell a couple of quiet stories, without deaths and revelations. Only about money, agreements and hundreds of thousands of idiots. It's about cosmetics for the most part. Let's start with Radior, okay?

Since 1917, the London company Radior began selling cosmetics containing radium. The line included: night cream, blush, powder, eye cream, talc, hair tonic, skin soap, face powder in six shades (Blanche, Naturelle, Rachel, Flash, Ochre and brunette), well, a dozen different radioactive pads that had to be tied to the face.

Radior sold well in Britain and the reason is very simple: under a long-term contract, it was presented in Boots "in all five hundred and eighty-five stores", as well as, under exchange agreements, in Harrods, Selfridges, Whiteley's, Marshall & Snelgroves and other large chains.

After 18 years, the line was closed. Claims were, but did not reach the courts-there were no deaths.
